Employee Compensation Insurance

Liberty's Employees' Compensation Insurance Policy safeguards employers against liability under the Employees' Compensation Ordinance as well as at Common Law when employee injures themselves during the course of their employment.
The purpose of the Employee's Compensation Ordinance is to compensate for the loss of earning income and medical benefits to work accident victims, or income benefits to their dependants as a result of an injury in the course of his/her work. "Injury" includes Death, Permanent Incapacity, Temporary Incapacity, Medical expenses and specific Occupational Diseases.
N.B. An employer who fails to have a valid insurance cover is liable to prosecution and, on conviction, a maximum fine of HKD100,000 and imprisonment for two years under Section 40 of the Employees' Compensation Ordinance.
