Pleasure Craft
Under the merchant shipping ordinance as legalised by the Hong Kong SAR government, the owner of any pleasure craft used in the Hong Kong waters must insure his/her liability for death or bodily injury of any third parties with an authorised insurer for the minimum amount as required. Similar to motor insurance, a pleasure craft insurance policy can cover third party risks only, or with the vessel's own damage on comprehensive cover.
